An Important Letter

Dear Future Me/Myself/I,   

Where to start... First of all, I didn't actually think I would pull through a letter to you because you're you who is me, who again, is you. That totally made sense... 😐? Anyways, how are you doing (don't even think about critiquing that line- how else am I suppose to start a conversation with my older self).  It's weird though because 5 years later, I would think I still know you, even though I probably don't. Details though, am I right?

First off, how's Naaya doing? She's 13 now right... or 12? Does she still despise doing writing homework... haha remember how when she didn't want to do any more work, she would literally make it her goal to not work anymore, even if that meant staying in her chair until she gave up 😂. She was driven... but I'm assuming (and hoping) that her work ethics changed just a little. 7th grade now, right? Wow. I don't think I could have ever imagined my little drama queen growing up. What about her social life? Did she ever get a YouTube channel (I'm kind of laughing right now). And if she did, did she get famous o.O. And her singing too. I hope her voice is a bajillion times more amazing than it already is (does she sing any song for you now or does she still have her preferences)!!

But you know what? Even though we ALL (all= you in the future, me in the present, and us in the past) know what a pain she can be sometimes (sorry not sorry Naaya 😄), forgive her. Do it for your tiny, more naive, and maybe less mature self. And you probably know why too. She's your little sister, your best friend, and the person who might as well be considered your soul mate. Through any and everything, she's gonna be by your side whether she wants to or not. It's just how it is. So don't burn that up and let those ashes flow away because it won't do you any good. And what's even more ironic about this is that I'm giving you such heartfelt advice, and I don't follow it (lol...), but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. But then again, considering that you are in 12th grade, you've probably already had your fair share of 5 years of talks from mom and dad about this. But hey, listen to them I guess :). Also, take her out sometimes, you know what I'm saying? I've kind of admitted it to her already that she's like my favorite person on earth but she's my little sister so I obviously didn't just bluntly say it... but I think she knows.

(On an itty-bitty sidenote, how are mom and dad doing? Hopefully well, yes? And of course Bushy- how's that oldie holding up? Pause reading this letter actually, and tell them I send lots of love)

Now, enough about Naaya, I want to hear about YOU. First off, I've been dying to ask you whether that scar on your right eye healed (or is it still there? Hopefully it's not there). Any new gossip or tea that could be useful for me- and do let me know if COVID hasn't gone away yet. 2020 was a rush year- something that no one will ever forget. So was 2021- hopefully, 2026 isn't going to be like that too *roll eyes*. I hope you're living your best life, having loads of fun, getting your sugar load, and feeling those occasional adrenaline rushes. I really hope that you stepped out of that small circle you had around you too, and walked into that blazing ring of fire (AHAHAHA I don't know where the "poeticness" came from but deal with it). Take a risk and become a stronger person. And remember that everyone loves you. 

Speaking of those risks by the way, did you ever visit Greece and Italy and get keychains from there? How big and heavy are your keychains together now? On a more serious note though, do keep those keychains (forever) as reminders of every place you've seen and all the new things you experienced :). 

And don't forget that your friends are keepers so stick around them :)... Memories with them are always the best ones to have swirling around in your head. They make you a happy happy happy person (imagine me saying that in a sing-song voice- it'll make you smile, I promise). But yea, tell them I'm thinking of them right now- but don't say you're thinking of them. Include the words "past self." Those are the keywords.

Ok ok, so now that all the formalities are heartfelt parts are done, I needed to ask you about two things: music and Percy Jackson 😏😏. If you don't remember, then please do remember that Percy Jackson (the series and the character both) fills that empty oozing void in your soul- not that there is one, but stick to the point. Do. You. Understand? Also, let me know if the re-remake of the series was as good as you hoped for on Disney+ (the one that Rick Riordan was directing). Speaking of, has Rick Riordan released any series in the future that I should know about... hopefully he does!

And also music. I can't forget about that either (I'm going to be really straightforward about this :). Was "Sour" a good album like everyone expected? Or did Olivia Rodrigo release any better music that I should be dying for? What about Why Don't We (haha I just remembered-- did you ever learn the group member's names, or are you still clueless as ever :p). And maybe my most important question yet, did you ever invest in the "goodness" of Spotify Premium? Let me know if it's worth it... somehow.

Sooooo (pause for a second and catch your breath) when I scrolled back up, I realized I asked a lot of questions that you are going to need time to answer, but I still have more so expect another letter from me soon (if I remember to write it). I'm going to end it here but definitely say hi to mom, dad, Bushy, and of course Naaya for me (and everyone else too I guess)! Have a great rest of your 12th grade-- assuming you only have a little less than a month left because it's almost May now. Make sure to blow 2026 up with fun (and maybe a little work) and remember to love yourself!! Make new friends, make new memories, and live your life up and fill it up with laughs because you only get that chance once (wow that's empowering 😲).
